A Cyclops Halloween!

While trick-or-treating for Halloween, I stumbled across this arrangement of pumpkins. At first my attention was captured by the strikingly handsome Cyclops Pumpkin in the background, and I wanted to immediately congratulate the owner on creating such a magnificent work of art. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed a smaller pumpkin figure in front with a small wooden spear, and what suspiciously looked like the 'eye' of the giant Cyclops Pumpkin pierced clean through. To my horror, I realized that I had walked up to the house of Odysseus sympathizers, and that what I saw depicted in front of my was my own tragic misfortune. Just look at the arrogant, evil grin on Odysseus' face. For a real "Nobody" he sure seems to act like he's "Somebody".
Without hesitation I backed away from the house and looked for a giant rock to throw. But remembering the words of my anger management therapist, I contented myself with just running off down the street.

At last a friend!

Finally I have a friend, someone who can share the experience of living in a classroom. He's so sweet and cuddly and reminds me of my sheep and goats back home on my rocky island. The good news is that since he's a MOLE, he's too small for any pesky Ithacans to hide under, so I won't have the same problem I did with my sheep. The only problem is, he doesn't have a name yet. So, I've arranged a poll so people can vote on their favorite name for him.

It's not easy being me

It's not easy being a human sized Cyclops trapped in a Mythology classroom, but apparently, it's my lot in life. It seems like everytime I get comfortable in a chair, someone comes and moves me someplace else; sometimes they even throw me on the ground. If only people could understand how much that upsets me. And as a recovering people-eater, how much it tries my resolve not to devour them for their thoughtless act. All I'm asking for is some consideration. Move me to a nice chair or desk-maybe even give me a book to read. After all, you are judged on how your treat everyone in life, even a human sized Cyclops trapped in a Mythology classroom.
